Rectoscopy – an outpatient painless instrumental examination of the rectum. It is performed after local preparation of the rectum with a special enema (you will receive it at our clinic), without fasting before the examination. The patient does the preparation himself at home according to the instructions or it is also possible at our place (in this case it is necessary to arrive 45 minutes earlier). We use a disposable rectoscope with magnifying optics. The doctor examines the anal canal and rectum, the rectoscope is inserted to a depth of about 18-20 cm into the large intestine (so-called sigma).
After the examination, the patient goes home/to work and does not feel pain, but may have increased flatulence for about half a day.
At the end of the examination, the doctor evaluates the findings and suggests a course of treatment to the patient with the price of the procedure.
